With Every Bit Of My Heart

Edgeworth was sitting with Phoenix and Trucy as they watched the wedding of Lotta and Larry unfold.

“We’re gathered here today to celebrate the union of Lotta Hart and Larry Butz. Marriage is a bond based on love, trust, and mutual respect…” the priest declared.

Edgeworth was distracted when he heard Phoenix sobbing loudly.

“What’s the matter, Wright?” Edgeworth asked.

Phoenix’s face was red and full of tears. “It’s… so romantic!”

Trucy rolled her eyes, with a little smile on her lips. Meanwhile, Edgeworth sighed, but he wasn’t surprised. Phoenix had always been a hopeless romantic…

“Do you, Lotta Hart, take Larry Butz to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love, honor, and cherish, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?”

“I do!” Lotta said, smiling as she looked into Larry’s eyes.

“Do you, Larry Butz, take Lotta Hart to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, honor, and cherish, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?”

“I do!” Larry said, also with tears in his eyes.

The couple exchanged their rings, and then, the priest said: “If there is anyone here who has just cause why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.”

There was silence for a couple moments. Phoenix clenched his fists, tempted.

“Don’t do it, Daddy,” Trucy murmured.

But Phoenix got up from his seat anyway, and pointed his finger dramatically towards the priest. From that sudden movement a current of wind arose, causing the priest's white robe to flutter and his stole to fly away.

“Objection!” Phoenix yelled, “That was… objectionable!”

The priest sighed. He had been warned about this situation…

“I see. Please, sit back down, Mr. Wright.”

Phoenix did, smiling sheepishly. Edgeworth was mortified as he covered his face with his hand, but Lotta and Larry started laughing.

The priest cleared his throat and continued. “By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you married. You may now seal your vows with a kiss.”

Larry held Lotta’s hands and placed a kiss on her lips.

“I love ya,” Lotta said, “I love ya with every bit o’ my heart.”
